Commissions - Hand carved in Scotland
I am happy to accept commissions for special pieces of jewellery or other carvings to be individually hand made to order. These items may be designed either by the customer or myself according to your individual wishes, including particular styles or woods. I offer a complete wooden jewellery design service but I am also happy to accept your own drawings and sketches.
Timbers commonly available include: walnut, yew, oak, bog oak, ash, holly, box, hazel, apple, cherry, elm and hawthorn. I can also use your own wood if you wish.
Requests so far have included wooden necklaces and wooden pendants, wooden combs, wooden brooches, wooden earrings, bangles and bracelets, plaques and wedding sets (e.g. matching brooch and kilt pin).
Let me know your wooden jewellery commissions by using the contact form and I will reply with a guide price and an approximate timescale for completion. Please also add your phone number so that we can discuss details if necessary. Waiting time is typically 10 – 12 weeks from payment of a deposit. A non returnable deposit of 20% (minimum £50) of the estimated final cost is required to confirm the order. Commissioned items of wooden jewellery with a value less than £100 require full payment in advance before work can commence.
Cancellation policy for bespoke commissioned jewellery: a cancellation charge of up to 50% may be payable depending on the stage of manufacture at the time of cancellation. This will be considered on a case by case basis at my own discretion.
